We took this book on a road trip on the recommendation of a friend. It started out slow and pleasant but not immediately compelling. That soon changed as the story unfolded and new characters were introduced. The characters will very real, complex and interesting. The subject of the story was a tragic "accident" but you learn about it through the eyes and perspective of the various characters which makes it very three dimensional as it deals with a number of social issues. By the end you realize what you were listening to was anything but slow and pleasant and was in fact very compelling. I highly recommend this book. (Posted on 7/8/10)
