International Ordering

We are pleased to now offer digital downloads to our customers outside North America. See below for more information.

How do I tell what downloadable titles are available to me in my country?

Look at the information below the cover of a title on its product detail page. Look for the words “Download edition available to”. In the example at left, The Ice Princess indicates the download is only available in the US. Below the download edition information, the CD edition (when applicable) is also noted.

Why aren’t all your downloadable titles available in all countries throughout the world?

While many HighBridge titles are available for sale throughout the world, for some titles we only have the right to sell in certain territories. In publishing, rights to sell titles are sold by territory (for example: World or North America or US only) as well as by format (for example: paperback or audio or e-book). HighBridge buys the right to sell audio editions of a title from an original rights holder (may be the print edition publisher, may be the author). While HighBridge obtains “World, English language” rights whenever possible, sometimes pieces of the World—such as the UK or the Commonwealth—have already been sold or are being retained by the original rights holder.

HighBridge takes its obligations seriously and makes a good faith effort to sell our titles only where we have the legal right to do so.

I’m in one country but my credit card has a billing address in another country. What country determines what titles are available to me?

In the end, during checkout, your credit card billing address determines what titles are available to you. However, initially the system only has your IP address to judge from, so you may see messages that titles are not available that you are indeed able to purchase.

I got a message when I was shopping a title that said “the title may not be available for sale to your country” and yet I was able to purchased it in the end. Why?

As in the question above, before you register and provide your billing address or log in (which also makes your billing information known to the system), the site uses your IP address to “guess” at where you live. For instance, a service person or a student studying abroad might initially be told a “US only” title may not be available to them. However, once that person logs in and starts to check out, the checkout and credit card authorization processes recognize them as holding a credit card with a US billing address.

Why do you only ship CDs within the US or to Canada even when I see I can buy a download in my country?

Orders outside the US and Canada require significant processing, and it’s simply not cost-effective for us to ship internationally. Email us instead at highbridge@highbridgeaudio.com and include the title and the country where you live, and we’ll try to find you a more local vendor from whom to purchase.

When you say a title is available in the US, does that also mean it is available to US dependencies such as American Samoa and Puerto Rico?

Yes. When we say a title is available in the “US” that also includes the US dependencies of American Samoa, Guam, USA Minor Outlying Islands, US Virgin Islands, and the Northern Mariana Islands.

Some titles are listed as having rights that exclude “the Commonwealth.” What constitutes “the Commonwealth”?

The Commonwealth of Nations, formerly the British Commonwealth, is a large and diverse group of countries, a complete list of which can be found on their website.
